Report shows Missouri unemployment rate drops slightly

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri's Department of Economic Development says unemployment dropped to 5 percent in October.

New data from the agency shows the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased slightly last month, from 5.3 percent in September.

The department says that's the lowest it's been since April 2007. Seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment went up by about 1,400 jobs.

The agency also revised September employment estimates upward by 5,000 that month.
