Dear Editor:
Please explain to me how someone can call themselves a Christian and Republican.
Republican lawmakers have pushed to cut unemployment, workers comp, welfare and Planned Parenthood. They refuse to expand Medicaid, a program that would create jobs and help countless people and now they want to close our borders to refugees.
I thought helping people in need was the core of Christian and American values or does that only apply when convenient?
I know that Republicans are not the only ones who subscribe to this opinion but they are the ones leading the charge. So how can you call yourself a Christian and tell people in need to go away? What happened to the Golden Rule?
