COLUMBIA - Members of the Gym-Zzouri gymnastics team recently competed in the Flipz USA Invitational.
This was the first meet of the season and all the gymnasts who competed qualified for the state championships to be held in April in St. Louis. A qualifying score for the state meet is 32.00 in the all around.
Here are the results for the Xcel Bronze Division (first-place team, score of 108.00) - Olivia Weckenborg: second vault, third bars, first beam, first floor, first all around (36.50); Hope Wolfe: third vault, first bars, third beam, second floor, second all around (35.85); Kayla Vegiard: first vault, second beam, third all around (35.25); Jahanna Koestner: second bars, fourth all around (33.875); Olivia Strobel: third floor, fifth all around (33.50).
Here are the results for the Xcel Gold Division (first-place team, score of 105.925, older age group) - Betsy Morello: first bars, fourth beam, first floor, first all around (35.45); Tessa Uhlman: fourth vault, second bars, fifth beam, third floor, second all around (35.275); Audrey Muessig: third bars, second beam, fifth floor, fourth all around (34.55); Stephanie Miller: third vault, fifth bars, seventh beam, sixth all around (34.25).
