BizBeat: Expanded business makes aging easier

Aging Made Easy, an in-home service provider based in St. James, expanded to a Jefferson City office at the beginning of November.

Aging Made Easy offers in-home nursing as well as personal care services for elderly or disabled clients ages 18 and up.

"I thought there would be a lot of need here for our services," said owner Sandra Johnson. She said Aging Made Easy's mission is to keep people from having to go into a nursing home to get the care they need.

Personal care services include help with dressing, grooming and bathing; and advanced personal care services include things like catheter hygiene and range of motion, Johnson said.

The in-home service provider also offers respite service and homemaker/chore services like help with meals, dishes, cleaning and shopping.

Johnson started the business in July 2007. The local office, at 1304 Southwest Blvd. Suite B and serving Cole and Callaway counties, is Aging Made Easy's fifth location, with offices in Sullivan, St. Louis and Owensville.

Aging Made Easy accepts Medicaid, VA benefits and private insurance and private pay.
