MONTREAL (AP) - Nathan MacKinnon scored twice 13 seconds apart in Colorado's three-goal first period and the Avalanche jumped on a shaky Mike Condon to beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-1 on Saturday night.
Mikhail Grigorenko, filling in on the top line for the suspended Gabriel Landeskog, had a goal and set up both of MacKinnon's scores. Reto Berra stopped 39 shots.
Blake Comeau, Matt Duchene and John Mitchell also scored for Colorado, which has won the first three on a six-game road trip. Duchene also had two assists to give him eight points on the trip.
Brendan Gallagher scored for Montreal, which ended a six-game points streak and lost at home in regulation for the first time this season.
Condon gave up four goals on 11 shots. Dustin Tokarski took over for the third period and stopped 11 of 13 shots he faced.
DEVILS 4, PENGUINS 0
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Cory Schneider made 21 stops for his first shutout of the season and Mike Cammalleri had a goal and two assists, leading New Jersey to a dominant victory over Pittsburgh.
David Schlemko, Bobby Farnham and Lee Stempniak also scored for surprising New Jersey, which has won four of five. Adam Henrique added two assists.
Pittsburgh lost for the second straight night after winning seven of their previous eight games.
Schneider was only tested only a handful of times in his 17th career shutout. He had a nice save with his blocking pad on Penguins center Sidney Crosby, who has only two goals in 17 games.
BLACKHAWKS 4, BLUES 2
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Patrick Kane broke a tie late in the second period to extend his point streak to 12 games and lead Chicago over St. Louis.
Andrew Shaw, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Artem Anisimov also scored for Chicago and Corey Crawford stopped 29 shots. The Blackhawks, who had lost three of their last four and five of seven, snapped a five-game road losing streak.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice for the Blues, who had won three of four and six of their last eighth. Jake Allen finished with 23 saves.
Kane 12th goal of the season gave him nine goals and 11 assists during his streak - the longest in the league this season.
STARS 3, WILD 2, OT
DALLAS (AP) - John Klingberg scored at 3:18 of overtime and Dallas beat Minnesota.
Klingberg got a cross-ice pass from Tyler Seguin and beat Devan Dubnyk for his fourth of the season.
Klingberg and Jamie Benn each had a goal and two assists for the Stars, who had all five shots on goal in overtime.
First-place Dallas has won eight of 10. Minnesota had won three in a row.
SHARKS 2, SABRES 1, OT
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Patrick Marleau scored by converting a rebound 2:59 into overtime and San Jose beat Buffalo to end an eight-game skid against the Sabres.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic had a goal and assist, goalie Martin Jones stopped 30 shots and San Jose won for just the second time in 16 visits to Buffalo - and first since Dec. 2, 2005 in Joe Thornton's first game with the franchise.
Vlasic set up the game-winner. The Sharks were applying pressure in the Sabres zone, and his shot from the high slot bounced off the right post and caromed to the left of the net. Marleau reached out to coral the puck and snapped it into the open side.
San Jose won two straight for the first time since a 4-0 start. The Sharks are now 2-0 in beginning a six-game road trip following a 3-2 win at Detroit on Friday night.
Ryan O'Reilly scored for Buffalo.
KINGS 4, OILERS 3
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nick Shore scored the go-ahead goal with 1:39 left in the third period and Los Angeles also got goals from Marian Gaborik, Tanner Pearson and Milan Lucic to beat Edmonton.
Jonathan Quick made 22 saves, improving his career record against the Oilers to 16-1-5 in a matchup of teams with the best and worst records in the Pacific Division. The Kings have beaten the Oilers seven straight times at Staples Center.
Teddy Purcell, Taylor Hall and red-hot rookie Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers, who ended a four-game road trip that included an overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks in which they rallied three times from one-goal deficits. Draisaitl has five goals and eight assists since his promotion from the minors.
Hall, the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, tied it on a short wrist shot in the slot with 4:50 remaining.
RANGERS 2, SENATORS 1, SO
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) - Ottawa native Dan Boyle scored the shootout winner and New York beat Ottawa.
Chris Kreider scored the lone goal in regulation for the Rangers, who have won eight in a row and have a point in 12 straight games.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 22 shots for his tenth win of the season.
Erik Karlsson scored the only goal for the Senators as Craig Anderson made 33 saves.
In overtime, Ottawa's Mike Hoffman hit the post twice and the Rangers' Rick Nash hit the post as well.
PREDATORS 7, JETS 0
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Calle Jarnkrok scored twice and Pekka Rinne made 20 saves to lead Nashville over Winnipeg.
Craig Smith, Seth Jones, Mike Ribeiro, James Neal and Mattias Ekholm also scored as the Predators won for the second time in three games. Rinne recorded his second shutout of the season and 38th of his career.
Smith, Jones, Ryan Ellis and Cody Hodgson all had two assists.
Michael Hutchinson stopped four of the seven shots he faced and Ondrej Pavelec finished with 23 saves on his 27 shots for the Jets, who have lost five straight.
BLUE JACKETS 5, COYOTES 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - William Karlsson scored his first two goals of the season and Columbus beat Arizona in a chippy game for the Blue Jackets' first home win this season.
Boone Jenner had a goal and two assists, Ryan Johansen had a goal and an assist and Brandon Saad also scored for the Blue Jackets. Columbus entered with a six-game home losing streak - tied for worst in franchise history - and as the last club this season without a home victory.
Jack Johnson had two assists and Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves. Columbus won for the second time in as many nights after beating the Penguins 2-1 on Friday night.
Anthony Duclair had a goal and an assist and Oliver-Ekman Larsson also scored for Arizona, which ended a three-game winning streak. The Coyotes were eyeing first place in the Pacific Division after finishing in the basement last season. Mike Smith had 16 saves.
BRUINS 3, RED WINGS 1
BOSTON (AP) - Patrice Bergeron scored the first of Boston's three second-period goals in a win over Detroit.
David Krejci and Torey Krug also scored for the Bruins, who posted just their second home win this season
Boston's Tuukka Rask made 22 saves. He had allowed 27 goals in his previous seven home games.
Justin Abdelkader scored a third-period, power-play goal for Detroit, which has lost its last five meetings with the Bruins.
Peter Mrazek stopped 28 shots for Detroit, which was coming off a 3-2 loss at home against San Jose on Friday night.
MAPLE LEAFS 4, CANUCKS 2
TORONTO (AP) - James Reimer made 43 saves and Toronto beat Vancouver for its third straight victory.
James van Riemsdyk, Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, Shawn Matthias and Joffrey Lupul scored to help Toronto improve to 5-8-4. The Maple Leafs last won three straight during a six-game streak last December.
Jannik Hansen and Alexandre Burrows scored for Vancouver, and Ryan Miller made 36 saves.
PANTHERS 5, LIGHTNING 4, SO
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Brandon Pirri scored the lone shootout goal and had a penalty shot goal to help Florida beat Tampa Bay.
The Panthers also got goals in regulation from Jussi Jokinen, Nick Bjugstad and Aaron Ekblad, who tied it late in the third.
Vladislav Namestnikov scored two goals for the Lightning. Cedric Paquette and Anton Stralman had the other Tampa Bay goals.
Both teams have struggled offensively with Tampa Bay scoring 15 goals over the previous 10 games, while the Panthers had 13 goals in their previous seven games.
Lightning star Steven Stamkos had his penalty shot stopped by Roberto Luongo 3:09 into the extra session.
Pirri beat Ben Bishop for the eventual overtime winner.
FLYERS 3, HURRICANES 2, OT
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Jakub Voracek scored 37 seconds into overtime and Philadelphia rallied to beat Carolina.
Luke Schenn and Wayne Simmonds also scored for the Flyers.
Philadelphia trailed 2-0 midway through the second period before rallying for just its second victory since Oct. 24.
Elias Lindholm and Victor Rask scored and Eric Staal had two assists for the Hurricanes, who have lost two straight and four of five since winning three in a row.
Steve Mason made 19 saves for the Flyers, but only faced three shots in the third. Cam Ward finished with 16 stops for Carolina.
