Men's Basketball: Rockers named MVP

COLUMBIA - Zach Rockers of Columbia College was named the Most Valuable Player of the Cougar Classic for the second straight season after leading Columbia to a pair of season-opening victories.

On Friday, the Cougars cruised to a 78-54 win against Cumberland University, with Rockers (Helias High School) dropping in 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He also contributed one assist in his 31 minutes of play.

Rockers and the Cougars then beat Culver-Stockton 71-68 on Saturday night. Rockers had 14 points, nine assists, three steals and one assist.
