WARRENSBURG - Central Missouri's Ty Loethen finished third in the 174-pound weight class during the University of Central Missouri Open on Sunday.
Loethen (Helias High School) went 3-1 on the day. He started with a 16-0, technical-fall win against Nick Scherer of Missouri, followed by a win by fall in 1:12 against Patrick Kristen of Lindenwood.
Loethen then fell 18-16 in overtime to J.J. Filipek of McKendree before coming back to pin Cody Carson, wrestling unattached, in 1:29.
