WARRENSBURG - Lindenwood's Corbin Howard placed third at 125 pounds in the University of Central Missouri Open held Sunday.
Howard (Jefferson City High School) dropped his first match 3-1 to unattached Jarrett Reisenbichler from McKendree before storming back through the loser's bracket.
Howard beat Pat Augustyn, another McKendree student wrestling unattached, by a 6-3 score before beating Nick Lukanich of McKendree 11-5.
Howard then got a measure of revenge by beating Reisenbichler 4-2 to advance to the third-place match, where he beat Lindenwood teammate Carlos Jaquez, who was wrestling unattached, by a 3-2 score.
