The Thomas Jefferson eighth-grade teams dropped both halves of a home doubleheader with Lange Middle School to open the season Monday.
In the A game, the Patriots fell 37-30. Brendan Hoener led Thomas Jefferson with 10 points.
Lange won the B game 38-25. Asher Horton had nine points for the Patriots.
Thomas Jefferson plays again Wednesday at Gentry Middle School.
