Southeast Missouri beats Austin Peay 44-15

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Dante Vandeven threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead Southeast Missouri to a 44-15 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday night.

Tay Bender and Will Young ran for scores, and Paul McRoberts and Tyler McLemore had touchdown catches for Southeast Missouri (4-5, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference). Chad Meredith recovered a fumble and scored late in the game.

Vandeven was 19-of-28 passing for 161 yards with scoring throws of 2 and 25 yards. He has 1,103 yards passing for the season, becoming the first freshman quarterback for the Redhawks to surpass 1,000 yards since Bobby Brune threw for 1,167 in 1998.

Timarious Mitchell connected with James Coleman on a 13-yard touchdown pass for Austin Peay (0-10, 0-7). Vandeven ran for a 4-yard touchdown before Kendall Morris bullied in from the 1-yard line to give the Governors a 12-7 lead early in the second quarter.
