Cross Country: Fatima girls win district

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - The Fatima Lady Comets had six runners earn all-district honors Saturday on their way to claiming team honors.

Brianna Haller (20:19.89), Alyssa Struemph (21:01.06) and Katelyn Vanderfeltz (21:19.34) claimed the top three individual positions for Fatima as the Lady Comets totaled 17 points in the Class 2 District 4 event.

Katie Fechtel (seventh), Hannah Kloeppel (eighth) and Madison Day (10th) also were all-district. Kortney Bliss was 22nd for Fatima.

On the boys side, Fatima finished second with 63 points.

Alex Krieg of Fatima was the district individual champion (17:50.40). Two other Comets - Hunter Hennier (fifth) and Logan Borland (10th) - also were all-district performers. Other Fatima finishers were Caleb Schroeder (17th), Cody Huhn (31st), Dalton Luebbert (33rd) and Zach Even (35th).

The Lady Comets and Comets will run next Saturday in the state championships at the Oak Hills Golf Center.
