Blair Oaks scores in two events

Friday at the Class 3 state track and field championships

It was a quiet first day for the Blair Oaks Falcons and Lady Falcons in the Class 3 Missouri State High School Activities Association Track and Field Championships.

The Falcons and Lady Falcons scored in just one event each during action at Lincoln University's Dwight T. Reed Stadium in Jefferson City.

The Falcons came up with three team points when Nick Yaeger finished third in the boys 800-meter run, while the Lady Falcons got a single point when the 4x800-meter relay team of Taylor Scott, Jolie Duffner, Kristina Wortmann and Rachel Isenberg took eighth.

The boys advanced a pair of relay teams to today's finals, as the 4x200- and 4x400-meter squads qualified seventh and fifth, respectively.

The Falcons' 4x800-meter relay team will get the day's running events started with a finals-only race beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Abbey Eskens of the Lady Falcons advanced thanks to her performance in Friday's prelims of the 100-meter dash.
