Man ordered tried for role in Missouri shooting death

GREENVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial for his role in a southeastern Missouri shooting death.

The (Poplar Bluff) Daily American Republic (http://bit.ly/1J6UlyU) reports that 34-year-old Steven Jennewein of Greenville waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Wayne County authorities allege that Jennewein assisted in the Feb. 1 shotgun killing of John Fowler. The body of that St. Peters man who had been staying at a campground was found next to his overturned all-terrain vehicle on a county road near Hiram, Missouri.

Two other men have been charged with identical counts in the case.

A message left with Jennewein's attorney Wednesday was not immediately returned.

Jennewein's next court appearance is scheduled for July 13.
