ST. LOUIS (AP) - Martin Duggan, longtime editorial page editor of the old St. Louis Globe-Democrat and host for 23 years of the local TV public affairs show "Donnybrook," has died.
Duggan died Wednesday at his home an undisclosed cause, according to KETC-TV, the St. Louis public TV station that airs "Donnybrook." He was 93.
Duggan was known for conservative editorials until losing his job when the Globe-Democrat was sold in 1984.
On "Donnybrook," he served as "provocateur," host and producer from the show's inception in 1987 until retiring in 2009. The show won two Emmys and was often the highest-rated locally produced public affairs program on public television under Duggan's guidance.
Duggan is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mae, three sons and a daughter. Another son died in 1978.
