The crew from Emery Sapp and Sons in Columbia are putting the finishing touches on the railing and sides and cleaning the pavement in preparation for asphalt to be laid today. There still will be work being done, but the bridge will be open to traffic and pedestrians.

The old bridge, along with the Jackson Street overpass was demolished early in February as part of the Lafayette interchange project.
