Memorial Day Holiday closings

Because of today's Memorial Day holiday, federal, state, county and city offices will be closed except for emergency services, such as law enforcement and fire protection.

The State Archives, 600 W. Main St., will be closed.

Lincoln University also will be closed.

Most financial institutions and many businesses will be closed, although some retail businesses will be open.

The Jefferson City Transit System, "Jefftran," will not operate.

The U.S. Postal Service won't provide regular home deliveries or mailbox collections. However, special deliveries and Express Mail will be delivered as required.

The Mid-Missouri Regional Library in Jefferson City and Linn, and the Daniel Boone Regional Library, serving Boone and Callaway counties, and the Heartland Library in Maries and Miller counties all will be closed today and Monday.

Allied Waste/Republic Services will not be working Monday, and all trash and recycling collections will be a day later than usual throughout the week.

The yard-waste drop off site, 2417 Southridge Drive, also will be closed.

The Jefferson City Family YMCA's Firley Outdoor pool will not be open on Monday, delayed by the cool weather.

Due to today's holiday, there will be no print edition of Monday's News Tribune, and the business offices will be closed.

Publication and office hours will resume Tuesday.
