Classes on tap at farmers market

A variety of classes surrounding plants and gardens will be offered at the Lincoln University Extension Farmers Markets at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays beginning June 6.

Nadia Navarrete-Tindall, native plant specialist, will discuss native edible plants June 6.

Basics of botany will be presented by Jeff Hargrove, extension technician, June 13.

Fruit tree care and maintenance will be discussed by extension technician Martha O'Connor June 20.

Tomato pruning and vegetable care will be the topic June 27, delivered by Zelalem Mersha, plant pathologist.

July classes will include garden insect control by Jaime Pinero, integrated pest management specialist, July 11; nutrition by Veronica Taylor, commercial kitchen manager, July 18; and value-added products.
