Your Opinion: Signs insufficient for out-of-state visitors

Dear Editor:

I live in Atlanta and visit my mother in Jefferson City. I fly into St. Louis, then rent a car and drive two hours to her home. I have had problems the last three times when I am ready to return to the St. Louis airport because there are no signs directing drivers to St. Louis.

Don't you think people in Jefferson City might want to know how to get to Missouri's second largest city? Why in the world are there no directional signs to any major Missouri cities in the 50/54/63 interchange in Jefferson City?

I have finally figured out, using a map (since there are no road signs) that from U.S. 50 East I should take U.S. 54 East. Even once that is accomplished there are absolutely no signs on U.S 54 East that you are heading towards St. Louis (via I-70 East).

It is ridiculous that there is such poor signage in Missouri's capital city to help drivers figure out the correct roads to take.
