Pedestrian hit by car in Callaway County

One man was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Callaway County on Friday night.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Sean M. Derickson, 25, of St. Louis, was standing in the road on Chappell Drive, just north of Lost Canyon Lake Drive, at 9:10 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a car driven by Lacy L. Maietta, 21, of Troy.

Derickson was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. Maietta was not wearing a seat belt.

• Two people from Fulton recieved minor injuries early Saturday after their car overturned in Callaway County.

According to patrol reports, Forest Warford, 24, of Fulton, was driving north on Route NN, just north of County Road 421, at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, when he swerved to avoid a deer. The car then went off the right side of the road and overturned, injuring two passengers.

Amanda P. Weir, 21, of Fulton, and Nathaniel D. Weir, 24, of Fulton, both received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

All three people were wearing seat belts.
