Missouri softball travels to UCLA

NCAA Super Regional

The Missouri softball team begins a best-of-three super regional against UCLA today in Los Angeles.

Today's game begins at 7 p.m. at Easton Stadium (ESPNU-TV). The Tigers enter the game as a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament, while UCLA is a No. 7 seed.

Game 2 of the series will be played at 2 p.m. Sunday, and Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 5 p.m. Sunday. The super regional winner faces either Oregon or North Carolina State on Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Missouri is currently ranked 12th by USA Today, and UCLA is ranked seventh.

Missouri defeated Kansas in regional action last weekend to reach the super regional. The Tigers have won a regional seven of their last eight seasons. Missouri is 7-7 all-time in super-regional play. This is the Bruins' seventh Super Regional, and UCLA has gone 10-5 in super regional games.

The Tigers have won 17 of their last 21 games, with the four losses have come to top-10 ranked teams. The Bruins have the best batting average in the country (.372) and are second in on-base percentage (.472).

The last time Missouri was the away team in a super regional was 2009, when the Tigers also played UCLA and won two of three games to reach the Women's College World Series. A trip back would be the team's first since 2011.
