Mo. River hits flood stage in JC

Tuesday morning the Missouri River reached the 23 foot flood stage in Jefferson City.

The current forecast has the river staying at that level until Wednesday morning when it's forecasted to slowly begin to fall and continue falling throughout the week.

Heavy rains last week upstream and in the mid-Missouri area this past weekend caused the river to rise from 14 feet Sunday morning.

The forecast for the river in Chamois still has the river going to nearly 21 feet by Wednesday morning, which is four feet above the 17 foot flood stage.

No flooding is forecast on the Moreau and Osage Rivers in our area.
