CLINTON, Mo. - The California Pintos claimed the District Championship at the Class 3, District 7 Track Meet Saturday with a score of 148.2, 11.2 points more than the second place team, Lamar. Versailles claimed sixth place in the 12-team field.
Josh Woodruff placed first in the 110-meter hurdles, second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter. He was also part of the first-place 4x400-meter relay team. Nathan Squires and Ramiro Garcia continue to place high in shot put, finishing first and third, respectively.
Patrick Koppi and Zach Parson of Versailles finished first and second in pole vault, and Drake Lewis placed second in the high jump.
The Lady Pintos finished in fourth place and the Lady Tigers placed seventh in the meet.
Meanwhile, for Jamestown athletes, who were participating in the Class 1 Sectional Track Meet also held in Clinton, Trevor Barbour and the 4x400-meter relay team advanced to State. Mickayla Strother advanced for the Lady Eagles.
