Strong storms moved through parts of Jefferson City on Friday afternoon.

Fire department reports show firefighters responded to a report of a power line down in the area of Southwest Boulevard and Bassman Street around 1:30 p.m. This caused a power outage to an undetermined number of Ameren Missouri customers for about an hour.

Several trees were also blown over in the area of Swifts Highway near Helias Catholic High School, some falling on cars parked in the school parking lot and causing significant damage.

No injuries were reported.
