Missouri baseball tops Kentucky

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri Tigers snapped a six-game losing streak Friday with a 6-3 victory against the Kentucky Wildcats in Southeastern Conference baseball action at Taylor Stadium.

Tanner Houck picked up his eighth win of the season for Missouri, pitching seven innings. He allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out nine.

Breckin Williams earned his 12th save of the season, working the final two frames. He allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out two.

After Kentucky took the lead with a run in the top of the third, Missouri answered in the bottom of the frame on a two-run home run by Jake Ivory.

Missouri added a run in the fourth to make it 3-1. Both teams played a run in the fifth before Missouri added two insurance runs in the eighth to make it 6-2.

Jake Ring, who also homered, Ryan Howard and Ivory all had two hits in an eight-hit Tiger attack.

Missouri (29-25 overall, 15-14 SEC) and Kentucky (29-24, 13-15) will wrap up their three-game series at 1 p.m. today.
