The Jefferson City Lady Jays soccer team and Jays baseball team are among area squads scheduled to begin district tournament action today.
The Lady Jays (15-4-3) are the No. 1 seed in the Class 4 District 11 Tournament at the 179 Soccer Park.
Jefferson City is slated to face the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers at 10 a.m. The Lady Jays, ranked No. 8 in the state by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association, defeated the Lady Tigers 4-1 in a game earlier this season in Sedalia.
The second game in the four-team district will pit second-seeded Rock Bridge and third-seeded Hickman at 12:30 p.m.
The title game is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Jays (17-11) are the No. 3 seed in the Class 5 District 9 Tournament to be played at Hickman. Jefferson City, whose scheduled game against Holt on Friday at Vivion Field was rained out, will face sixth-seeded Camdenton at 1 p.m.
The Jefferson City-Camdenton winner will take on Sedalia Smith-Cotton at 5 p.m. Monday in the semifinals of the six-team tournament.
The first game of the day will pit fourth-seeded Battle against fifth-seeded Hickman at 11 a.m. The winner of that game will face top-seeded Rock Bridge at 7 p.m. Monday.
The title game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Three area baseball districts that were scheduled to begin Friday saw their games moved to Monday.
In the Class 3 District 9 Tournament at Westphalia, three first-round games will now begin at 3 p.m. with Dixon taking on Bourbon. Eugene and Steelville will play at 5:15 p.m., followed by Blair Oaks and Cuba at 7:30 p.m.
Fatima, the No. 1 seed in the seven-team district, will play the Eugene-Steelville winner in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The other semifinal is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday, while the title game will be played at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
In the Class 2 District 8 at New Bloomfield, New Bloomfield and Russellville will start the action at 2 p.m. Monday. Iberia and Belle will play at 4:30 p.m., with Vienna and Calvary Lutheran slated to begin at 7 p.m.
Top-seeded Linn will face either Iberia or Belle in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the other semifinal set for 7 p.m. The title game is now slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The six-team Class 1 District 9 Tournament at St. Elizabeth will have two first-round games played Monday - Tuscumbia and Otterville at 3 p.m, followed by Prairie Home and Bunceton at 5:30 p.m.
Top-seeded Jamestown and No. 2 St. Elizabeth will play first-round winners Tuesday, with the championship set for Wednesday.
