12-year sentence for dealing drugs

A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for pleading guilty to charges in connection with a drug raid that occurred in May 2014.

Joey B. Anderson Jr., 29, was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.

Anderson was one of 20 people who were arrested during the raid.

The suspects were arrested for distribution of controlled substances, including heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy and marijuana, along with other narcotics-related crimes.

The raid was conducted by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Cole County Sheriff's Department, Jefferson City Police Department and the Columbia Police Department.

The arrests are the result of a lengthy undercover investigation conducted by the patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Mustang Drug Task Force.
