Your Opinion: "Liberals' vilify Christianity

Dear Editor:

I'm writing to respond to Matt Glover's letter published May 10.

Glover writes from the position that he knows what the laws, if and when LGBT people would be protected are enacted, would require. To infer that they will not infringe on religious liberties is absurd. If a caterer would be required to cater a gay wedding, why wouldn't a pastor be required to perform a gay wedding under the same law? This to me would be an infringement on religious liberties!

I do agree however with Glover's statement "religious beliefs simply are not relevant to this conversation."

I wish to define a group of people who I refer to as "liberals" and seemingly have become the apparent majority in this country. This group includes mostly Democrats and their enabling mainstream media. I believe this group consists mostly of the Haight-Ashbury '60s "make love not war" crowd, their descendents, those whom they have educated and those who just agree with their ideology. In the '60s this group embraced the Chinese Marxist Mao Tse-tung and dishonored our Vietnam soldiers in our fight against Communism.

"Liberals" today consider Christianity as their enemy because Christians stood and fought for freedom, personal responsibility and biblical morality on which our country was founded. These attributes were unacceptable to liberals in the '60s and as they were to the likes of Mao Tse-tung. To accomplish their objective of an open society of free love and drugs, they must continually demonize the Christian religion as the one major obstacle to their goal when in fact it's really freedom, personal responsibility and morality they are attempting to destroy. The problem for "liberals" is they can't fight intangible principles. To reach their goal, they must always demonize tangible organizations or persons that represent the enemy (i.e. Christianity, Tea Party, corporations, the rich, conservative (red) states, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Drudge, Breitbart, etc.).

If "religion" is really what the debate is about, why is the oppressive Muslim religion exempted and seemingly protected from criticism by liberals? Is it because "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? My opinion is yes!

As long as liberals control our major information sources, the Christian religion will continue to be wrongly demonized as intolerant, biased, homophobic, discriminatory, unfair, etc. while the liberal's real goal of tyranny is ignored.
