Probation, shock detention for 2011 robbery

A Jefferson City man charged in connection with a robbery that occurred in July 2011 has been placed on five years supervised probation.

Orviron Wells, 21, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and must also complete a 60-day shock detention sentence with credit for time served.

According to police reports, a 23-year-old Jefferson City man was assaulted and robbed by two men near the intersection of Chestnut and East High streets.

Wells took the victim's wallet and left the scene. There was no indication that a weapon was used during the robbery.

The victim knew Wells by his first name, and officers tracked him down.
