Mid-Missouri men injured in crashes

A Versailles man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri 52 at Jasper Road in Morgan County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, driven eastbound by Ricky D. Erichsen, 32, of Versailles, was traveling at a high rate of speed on the crest of a hill. A 2000 Cadillac DeVille, driven northbound by William H. Schotte, 42, Barnett, was making a left turn and traveled into the path of Erichsen's vehicle.

Erichsen was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices and a seat belt.

• A Linn man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday on Missouri 89 north of County Road 811 in Osage County.

The patrol reported a 1989 International dump truck, driven southbound by Ralph H. Brandt, 65, of Linn, swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle, traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.

Brandt was taken to SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City and transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
