Jays tennis defeats Hickman, faces Rock Bridge today

The Jefferson City Jays tennis team defeated Hickman 5-1 in the Class 2 District 9 semifinals Tuesday at Washington Park.

Doubles winners for the Jays were David Clausen and Spencer Bone (8-5) and David Steinmeyer and Karsten McMillan (8-2). Falling in doubles were Dane Biesemeyer and Isaac Roling: 9-8 (7-3).

Singles winners for the Jays were Bone (6-1, 6-1), Roling (6-0, 6-1) and Joey Mendez (6-1, 6-0).

The Jays (17-3) will play Rock Bridge for the district title at 4:30 p.m. today in Columbia.
