Bulldogs first at district track, Lady Bulldogs second

LINN, Mo. - The South Callaway Bulldogs claimed boys team honors while the Lady Bulldogs were second Saturday in the Class 2 District 3 championships.

South Callaway totaled 136 points on the boys side to top the 12-team field.

Mason Shoemaker, a senior, was a double-winner for the Bulldogs after taking first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. South Callaway also was first in the 4x100-, 4x200- and 4x400-meter relays.

Alex Thompson was a double-winner for Russellville, winning the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Russellville finished second in the boys team standings with 116 points.

On the girls side, South Callaway totaled 131 points.

Sarah Jennings, a senior, was first in the high jump and triple jump for the Lady Bulldogs.

Jordan Barnhart, a junior from Russellville, was first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while Eugene freshman Jasmine Evers won the shot put and the discus.

Father Tolton took team honors for the girls with 157.5 points. Russellville was third with 92.

The top four finishers in each event advance to next Saturday's sectional meet at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.
