College Golf: Lincoln at Minority Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Lincoln men are fifth and the women ninth after Friday's opening round in the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship.

The Lincoln men posted a team total of 319 to open the event. Blake Lammers led the Blue Tigers with a 71, tied for first as an individual. Austin Ruediger added an 81, while Cody Shaw had an 82 and Drew Geritz an 85.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is first with a 306 in the NCAA Division II portion of the tournament, two shots better than Livingstone College in the nine-team event.

The Lincoln women finished Friday's round with a total of 352 to sit in ninth. Sophia Pardalos had an 82 for the Blue Tigers, followed by Mackenzie Wilson (84), Lauren McHenry (86) and Hanna Berendzen (100).

Bethune-Cookman is first with a 295, while Houston-Victoria is second at 303.

The 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday.
