College Baseball: Lincoln duo honored

Lincoln's Kaleb Davis and Trevor Schnieders were selected as All-Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association honorable mention baseball selection Thursday.

Davis, a sophomore, was honored for his play at first base while Schnieders, who played as a pitcher, outfielder and designated hitter this season, was recognized as a utility player.

Davis, the only Blue Tiger to start every game, led Lincoln with 49 hits and a .338 batting average. He tallied 12 doubles, a triple, two home runs, a team-high 22 runs and 14 RBI. He was also 5-for-5 on steal attempts and had eight hit-by-pitches en route to a team-best .436 on-base percentage.

Schnieders was Lincoln's top pitcher in 2015, striking out 33 batters in 55 innings of work. At the plate, he led the team with 32 RBI, hit 12 doubles, a triple and three home runs - including a grand slam - and ended the season with a .443 slugging percentage. He totaled 39 hits for a batting average of .279 and an on-base percentage of .301, scoring 13 runs in the process.
