Lincoln University would get more than $4 million from one of the budget bills the state Senate passed Wednesday and sent back to the House.
And the State Technical College of Missouri, Linn, would get more than $1 million.
Both schools would get money for foundation repairs and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) repairs.
LU's money - a total of $4,039,140 - also would be used for electrical, mechanical, plumbing system and roof repairs on campus buildings.
State Tech's funds - a total of $1,071,984 - also would be used for parking lot repairs and door and window replacements.
One of the three bills the Senate sent back to the House re-appropriates money that lawmakers originally passed last year.
That bill - House Bill 17 - would continue the funding for:
• Completion of the design for, and construction of, the new Fulton State Hospital - $198 million total (the project already is underway).
• Capitol Complex renovations and repairs - $50 million.
• Replacement of the Highway Patrol's garage at the Troop F headquarters in eastern Jefferson City, which was destroyed along with several vehicles by an early morning fire on April 8, 2014 - $4.140 million from Gaming Commission and Transportation department funds.
Budget Director Linda Luebbering said the reappropriation doesn't include $390,000 in general revenue funds that currently are being withheld by Gov. Jay Nixon, because "the project can be completed" without that money.
• Maintenance and repairs in the attorney general's portion of the Broadway State Office Building - $2,445,851.
House Bill 18 includes:
• Building repair and electrical replacements at the Missouri Lottery Commission headquarters in southern Jefferson City - $1,473,719.
• Renovating House hearing room spaces in the Capitol - $500,000.
