Callaway County deputies arrested John Jaegers, 43 of Holts Summit, Monday for burglary, property damage and stealing, according to a Callaway County Sheriff's Office press release.
Sheriff's office deputies investigated a residential burglary on the 12000 block of County Road 4037 in November 2014. During that burglary offense, the release stated, extensive damage was done to the residence.
During the past several months, investigators have continued to follow-up on the burglary and identified Jaegers as the suspect, the release stated.
On Monday, investigators arrested Jaegers at a business near Holts Summit and he was taken to the Callaway County Jail. Bond was set at $9,500. He, according to the release, later posted that bond. The investigation is ongoing, the release stated.
Jaegers was also involved in package thefts in both Cole and Callaway counties in November - a separate offense from the one he was arrested for on Monday. He was identified from a home security system video, which the victim shared on their Facebook account. The Fulton Sun previously reported that the suspect's family recognized him from the video and called the Holts Summit Police Department (HSPD). HSPD then contacted Jefferson City Police, who made the arrest, along with the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
The Callaway County charges for those offenses, the release stated, are still ongoing in the courts. The press release further stated that Jaegers was recently placed on five years supervised probation for the package theft offenses in Cole County.
