College Track: AMC Championships

COLUMBIA - The William Woods women steamrolled to the title in the American Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

The Owls amassed 282 points to run away from second-place Park, which had 179.

Leading the way for William Woods was Madelyn Scrivner (Eldon High School), who placed in four events. She won the hammer throw (44.54 meters), was third in the shot put (11.76 meters), fourth in the discus (32.45 meters) and sixth in the javelin (27.60 meters).

The Owls' Grace Young (Russellville High School) won the 800-meter run (2:22.86) and 1,500-meter run (4:40.51), while teammate Abby Baker (Jefferson City High School) was seventh in the 800-meter run (2:35.15).

Katelyn Huhn (Fatima High School) from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy was fourth in the pole vault (2.35 meters) and eighth in the long jump (3.76 meters). She helped her team finish fifth in the team race with 38 points.

On the men's side, William Woods finished second with 194 points, trailing Lindenwood-Belleville by just four.

The Owls' Kaleb Wilson (Linn High School) won the 5,000-meter run (15:43.52), while Preston Wolfe (Southern Boone High School) finished third in the high jump (1.80 meters). Collin Zeugin (Southern Boone High School) was fifth in the hammer throw (38.49 meters) and sixth in the shot put (11.11 meters).
