Baseball: Vienna 10, St. Elizabeth 9

VIENNA - The Vienna Eagles rallied from a five-run deficit Monday to defeat the St. Elizabeth Hornets 10-9.

St. Elizabeth led 8-3 before Vienna scored four times in the bottom of the fifth and three in the sixth to take a 10-8 lead. St. Elizabeth scored once in the top of the seventh to make it 10-9.

Jacob Howard got the win for Vienna, throwing 1 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball. He struck out two and allowed one unearned run.

Evan Klessner went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Vienna at the plate. Howard had two hits and an RBI, and Austin Wieberg had a double and two RBI.

Braydon Holtmeyer had three hits for the Hornets, while Alex Goller and Tanner Wilde-Prenger added two each. Wilde-Prenger drove in three runs.

Preston Otto worked the first five innings for St. Elizabeth. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk and three hit-batters while striking out three. Wyatt Stiles pitched the sixth, allowing three runs (one earned) on a walk and a hit. He struck out one.

St. Elizabeth (1-2) will play today at Crocker.
