Jays frosh, sophs take two baseball wins

The Jefferson City High School freshman and sophomore baseball team took two games against Battle on Monday at Vivion Field, winning 7-0 and 5-2.

In the opener, Kade Franks threw a one-hit, seven-inning shutout. Isaac Morelane and Cole Ahrens had two hits apiece.

In the second, Tyler Bise and Payton Bodenstab threw for the Jays. Every Jefferson City batter in the lineup tallied a hit.

The Jays' freshman and sophomore team (3-1) plays Hickman at 5:30 p.m. today at Vivion.
