Man arrested for February robbery

A western Missouri man has been charged in connection with a February robbery in Jefferson City.

Matthew Eppenauer, 31, of Oak Grove, is charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Court records state Eppenauer forcibly stole $6,000 in cash from an individual in the 1700 block of London Way. He was allegedly armed with a handgun and threatened to use the firearm against the victim.

Police said Eppenauer is a convicted felon and has been on parole for crimes involving dangerous drugs.

MUSTANG Drug Task Force officers were conducting a surveillance operation involving the victim in this case and saw Eppenaurer's vehicle at the scene just prior to the robbery being reported, police said.

The victim told authorities that Eppenauer followed him into the garage of his residence and removed the gun from a box dinner he had with him.

Eppenauer ordered the victim to give him money and when he did not comply fast enough, Eppenauer pointed the gun at the victim, police said.
