Jays tennis handles Lee's Summit

The Jefferson City Jays improved to 2-0 on the tennis season with an 8-1 win Saturday against Lee's Summit at Washington Park.

The Jays won five of the six singles matches. Winners included David Clausen (10-2), Spencer Bone (10-4), Dane Biesemeyer (10-2), Isaac Roling (10-4) and Joey Mendez (10-1). David Steinmeyer dropped a 10-1 decision.

Winning in doubles were Clausen and Bone (9-8, 7-3 tiebreaker), Steinmeyer and Roling (8-5), and Biesmeyer and Karsten McMillan (8-0).

Jefferson City will host Rolla at 4 p.m. Monday.
