Blair Oaks baseball drops two

HOLDEN, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons dropped a pair of baseball games Saturday, falling 10-9 to Cuba and 7-0 to Holden.

Cuba scored nine runs in the final two innings in its win against Blair Oaks.

After both teams scored a run in the first, the Falcons scored five times in the third to take the lead. The Falcons added single runs in the fourth and sixth to make it 8-1 before the Wildcats tied it with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Blair Oaks then regained the lead with a run in the top of the seventh before Cuba won it with two in the bottom of the frame.

Five Falcons had one hit each in the contest. Bryce Pritchett scored twice. Mason Gipe, Brent Heckemeyer and Zach Burns drove in two runs each.

Clayton Graessle went the first five innings, allowing a run on six hits and a walk. He struck out eight. Ryan Paschall and Jason Rackers pitched in relief.

In the second game, Blair Oaks had just two hits against Holden.

Pritchett went the first five innings to take the loss for Blair Oaks. He allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out six. Rackers allowed two runs on a hit and two walks in one inning of relief.

Blair Oaks (3-3) is scheduled to play Monday at North Callaway.
