Eldon tops Blair Oaks in baseball

ELDON, Mo. - Drew Rodriguez tossed a four-hitter Friday in leading the Eldon Mustangs to a 2-0 victory against the Blair Oaks Falcons.

Rodriguez, a freshman, walked one and struck out nine in going the distance in the seven-inning game. All four of Blair Oaks' hits were singles.

Eldon, which had seven hits, scored single runs in the first and sixth innings. Cory Hohman and Jeremy Hartwick had two hits each for the Mustangs.

Alec Sieg took the loss for the Falcons, working the first 11/3 innings. He allowed a run on a hit and four walks while recording one strikeout. Austin Herrigon pitched the next 22/3 nnings, allowing two hits and a walk. He also had one strikeout. James Reinkemeyer pitched the final two innings, giving up a run on four hits. He struck out two.

Blair Oaks (3-1) will return to action today with games against Holden and Cuba in Cuba.

In Friday's JV game, Blair Oaks posted a 6-1 win against Eldon. Ethan Rackers had two hits and scored twice for the Falcons (2-0). Tyler Swehia was the starter and winner for Blair Oaks, with Tanner
