MU at Michigan in WNIT

The Missouri Tigers have won their first two WNIT games on the road.

Tonight, they will go for three in a row as they take on the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, Mich., in the third round of the event.

It will be the first meeting between the Tigers (19-13) and Wolverines (18-14). Game time is 6 p.m.

Missouri has defeated Northern Iowa (69-61) and Kansas State (67-48) in the tournament. Michigan, which is 13-4 in home games this season has advanced with victories at home against Cleveland State (72-50) and at Toledo (74-58).

Three Tigers average in double figures, led by 6-foot-1 sophomore Jordan Frericks at 13.2 points. She also pulls down 9.9 rebounds per contest. Sierra Michaelis, a 5-10 sophomore, is next at 10.4, while 5-9 senior Morgan Eye is totaling 10.2. Eye knocked down nine 3-pointers in last Sunday's win at Kansas State to tie a WNIT single-game record.

Four Wolverines average in double figures. Katelynn Flaherty, a 5-7 freshman guard, tops the squad 14.5 points per contest. Cyesha Goree, a 6-3 senior is next with 13.9 points while totaling 10.3 rebounds.

Shannon Smith (13.6), a 5-7 senior, and 5-7 sophomore Siera Thompson (11.3) also average in double-digits in scoring.

Tonight's winner advances to the quarterfinals against Southern Miss, who beat Eastern Michigan 76-65 on Wednesday night. The date and site of the quarterfinal has yet to be determined.
