Cole County Grand Jury issues burglary indictment

A Jefferson City man has been indicted by the Cole County grand jury for a February burglary.

Jonathan W. Williamson, 37, Jefferson City, is charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing and second-degree burglary.

The grand jury found there was enough evidence in the case to send it on to the circuit courts for possible trial.

Police reports show officers were called to a residential burglary in the 900 block of Boonville Road.

When officers arrived in the area, a pickup truck, driven by Williamson, was leaving the scene and was subsequently stopped by officers.

When officers looked in the back of the truck, they saw a number of parts that belonged to the owner of the home where the burglary alarm was received.

In addition, officers found forced entry to a window on the north side of the residence.
