Jefferson City, Helias open track seasons

The Jefferson City High School and Helias track and field teams opened their respective seasons Tuesday with an unscored meet at Adkins Stadium.

On the boys side, Rashaun Woods won the 200-meter dash and long jump for the Jays. For the Lady Jays, Alexis Roberson finished first in the shot put and discus.

Jefferson City is scheduled to compete Saturday at the Festus Invitational.

Helias returns to action on Tuesday at St. Francis Borgia.
