The Jefferson City Public Schools are pleased to announce the six finalists for the 2015 Teacher of the Year. The six finalists, three from elementary division (preschool through fifth grade) and three from the secondary division (grades 6-12), are as follows:
• Stephanie Green, Cedar Hill, first-grade teacher
• Jeff Luttrell, Lewis and Clark Middle School, seventh-grade social studies teacher
• Lisa Maloney, West Elementary School, fifth-grade teacher
• Chad Rizner, Jefferson City High School, social studies teacher
• Stephen Scott, Lewis and Clark Middle School, eighth-grade language arts teacher
• Melanie Thompson, Thorpe Gordon Elementary School, librarian
A committee of community members and parents selected the six finalists based on their applications. The committee will next interview the finalists and the 2015 Teacher of the Year as well as the Railton Outstanding Teachers will be named at the May 7 Teacher Appreciation Banquet.
