The theme this year is "Magnetic Duos" and numbers are taken from cartoon characters, superheroes, Broadway, movies and musical duets.

Some examples of characters audiences will see are Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, Black Swan and White Swan from the movie, "Flintstones" and characters from "Golden Girls."

The music is a collection of all styles.

There will be approximately 200 performers ages 3-18.

The show is directed by Rachel Bruemmer and Brent Echols with help from assistant director Kelsie Grate.

There are also 12 instructors who help with staging and getting the show to run smoothly.

According to Bruemmer, there will be a special guest appearance by the Mizzou Synchronized Skate Team.

"This is a full production complete with costumes, lights and sound," Bruemmer said.

Skaters have been practicing for six weeks. Many also have taken lessons during the year.

The majority of costumes for the show are hand made by instructors and parents.

Bruemmer noted two ladies in particular are instrumental in costuming the skaters: Annette Bruemmer and Joyce Foster.

The ice show started as an exhibition for skaters to showcase their talents. The first show was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." After five years, the show moved to the themed format audiences enjoy today.

The show was recognized as an Outstanding Program in 1997 by the Missouri Park and Recreation Association.

"The community supports the show each year and the skaters could not ask for more. The kids need an outlet to perform and they really appreciate being able to show off what they are learning. We thank the community for it's tremendous support," Bruemmer said.
