Weavers hits two homers in Saint Louis win

ST. LOUIS - The Saint Louis softball team tied a school record by hitting five home runs in a come-from-behind, 11-10 win Sunday against Fordham.

Hailey Weavers (Helias High School) had two of the home runs, raising her season total to three.

Fordham jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings, but the Billikens started their comeback with two runs in the third, one of them coming on a solo homer by Weavers.

SLU scored three more in the third to get within 8-5, but Fordham made it 10-5 in the top of the fifth. The Billikens got those two back in the bottom of the frame and then cut the deficit to 10-8 thanks to another solo homer by Weavers in the sixth.

SLU then scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win it.

The Billikens improved to 17-9 overall and 2-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Rams dropped to 12-12 and 1-2.
