Rock Bridge wins fourth consecutive state title

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Sophie Cunningham scored 13 points and Cierra Porter added 12 to lead Rock Bridge to its fourth consecutive girls basketball state title on Saturday, beating Liberty 49-35 in the Class 5 championship game.

The seniors and Missouri signees helped Rock Bridge (24-7) capture its fourth consecutive title and move to 5-0 all-time in championship games. The duo was pulled with 23 seconds to go to a standing ovation and received the loudest applause when recognized postgame.

The Bruins led 37-35 with 4:30 remaining after Liberty's Morgan Fleming drained a 3-pointer, but went on to score the final 12 points of the game.

Chiarra Franklin and Sydney Offield each scored eight points for the Blue Jays (27-4), who fell to 1-1 in title game appearances. Fleming finished with seven.
