MU women romp in WNIT

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Morgan Eye definitely had her shooting eye Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri senior tied a tournament record by making nine 3-pointers to lead the Tigers to a 67-48 win against the Kansas State Wildcats in the second round of the WNIT.

Eye, who finished with 27 points, equaled the mark of Jordan Jones of South Carolina, set in 2008.

With the win, Missouri (19-13) advances to the third round of the tournament against the winner of tonight's game between Michigan (17-14) and Toledo (19-13). The date and time of that contest has yet to be determined.

Missouri led by as many as 10 points in the first half Sunday before Kansas State rallied to tie it at 35 heading into intermission.

But the Tigers dominated the second half, holding the Wildcats (19-14) to just four field goals.

Sierra Michaelis added 16 points for the Tigers. Jordan Frericks pulled down 18 rebounds for Missouri, which finished with a 50-31 edge on the boards.
